On August 7, 2024, the social service department of The Chinese Rhenish Church Hong Kong Synod (“CRCHKS”) received approval from the Social Welfare Department to hold a flag-day in the Kowloon district, marking the first large-scale outdoor fundraising event since the pandemic. This year's, over 800 enthusiastic volunteers and staff from various backgrounds, including kindergartens, social service units, church, and from individual. Despite the hot weather that day, everyone showed incredible enthusiasm and dedication to social services. Warmth and care prevailed at the flag-selling event.

Flag day 2024 raised approximately HKD 1.53 million, thanks to the generous donations from numerous church congregations and people from different sectors of the community. The funds will be used to support two non subvented service units, Rhenish Rejoice Centre for the Elderly and Rhenish Grace & Joy Development Centre, funding their operational cost to provide ongoing support and care for the community in need.

Each donation is a recognition and support for our services, which can change the lives of those who need help in the community.
