
The 60th Anniversary Thanksgiving Celebration

The 60th Anniversary Thanksgiving Celebration was held on November 30, 2024 at Chinese YMCA Wu Kwai Sha Youth Village. More than 463 people attend, and over 400 people dining together in a lively atmosphere.
On that day, the celebration ceremony was hosted by the agency head of the Social Services Department, Ms. Wincy Fong, alongside the Secretary for Labour and Welfare, Mr. Chris Sun, JP, the Business Director of the Hong Kong Council of Social Service, Ms. Cheung Lai-Wah, the Chairman of Synod, Elder Lo Chan Man, the Chairman of the Board of Social Services Department, Elder Sun Chi Shing, and the Vice-chairman of the Board of Social Services Department, Elder Wong Wai. The officiating guests highlighted the four key service elements of Inheritance, Care, Service, and Innovation during the ceremony. They initiated the opening of a box, from which a transformed butterfly emerged, symbolizing the organization soaring high like a butterfly after transformation, continuing to serve the community in the future. In addition, there were various performances throughout the day, including a marching band, drum performances, lion dance by seniors, hand movement of Cantonese opera, gospel cantonese opera, singing and dance performance by nursery students, and a grand chorus. The venue also featured an exhibition of award-winning works from the “Calligraphy and Photography competition” of award ceremony, along with several photo zones for guests and participants to take pictures.
