Renovation fund raising project
Kwai Shing East Rhenish Care and Attention Home launched a major renovation project in 2021, including the "Joyful Club" which provides training activities for residents with dementia. The project received generous donations from Chinese Rhenish Church Tai Po, allowing elderly residents in need to receive professional training and activities in a more comfortable and safer environment, and experience a caring and supportive environment that can delay the deterioration of cognitive abilities.
The home held a celebration event " Joyful Club Opening Ceremony and Welcoming the Dragon Boat Festival" on June 17, 2023. The ceremony was officiated by the elders of the Tai Po Church and the Chief Officer of the Social Service Department, who expressed gratitude for the donations from the Tai Po Church.
The members of the Tai Po Church performed the Cantonese gospel song "Happy People" for the residents, bringing blessings to each resident. In addition, the members and residents collaborated, with the residents holding hand drums and the members singing, to perform the song "Riding the Waves", symbolizing their shared belief in overcoming difficulties together.
